I Am Doing Fine!

I have not blogged since June 10th. I do not believe it! Hang on a moment, I must borrow Cowwie's hooves and horns and ears so we, together, can count how many months I have not blogged.
...
Four months! My goodness, I have not updated my readers in OVER four months. So much has happened!

  • I have been to the wonderful state of California and back. I believe that Jillian, on her blog www.teampatrickstar.blogspot.com, will be updating all of you on our big summer vacation around Christmastime, so I will spare you the details and instead direct you to her blog at that time.
  • Jillian has gone into [censored] grade. She is doing fantastically so far, and still has time to tuck me into bed at night after her homework.
  • Jillian got braces! (Has anything happened to me in the past four-plus months?)
  • Oh yes, just the day before yesterday I changed from my cutoffs and bare feet into jeans and socks! I now sport a very warm, winter-friendly outfit. Cowwie put on his "Little Monster" Halloween T-shirt. That holiday is coming up soon, hurrah! :-)
  • That is all I can think of! Thank you for checking back with me. I will try to update more often, and include photos and videos of me doing amazing fall and winter activities!

Summertime!

HOORAY!!! School just ended for me today! I go to a school for stuffed animals and dolls. Me and all my friends love going there, but of course we all love summer break too! And...drumroll please! *bam bam bam* We have a huge vacation coming up this month! We are going to California!! You heard it here first, folks. Jillian hasn't even announced it on her own blog yet :)

Please comment and tell me what you love most about summer!

PS--I am very sorry that I haven't blogged in practically two months! I didn't blog for all of May! I will try to blog as often as I can this summer.

Granbury Trip!

Almost exactly a month ago, my family went on a trip to Granbury, Texas. We've been there a couple times before--there are so many fun things to enjoy! There is a drive-in theatre (one of only 10 left in Texas), a lake, a square full of shops and a great hotel with an amazing pool, the Hilton Garden Inn. Luckily, we were there on the weekend of General Granbury's birthday festival. Shopping and junk food perfected the spring break trip. Here are some photos from the great vacation. Love, Socko ♪♫♪

Tee....vee....
Yay, toilet!
Hey, that's my Sprite!
Taking up most of the bed. Sorry, Cowwie!

Just enjoying the view.

Where Are They?

And no, I'm not talking about my Cookie Monster socks. I know where those are. (On my feet!) I'm talking about sock monkey references! There are barely any in movies or on TV. Sure, there's one in Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium, but I just know that from the promos. Jillian didn't want to see it because she already knew the ending. And yes, I saw the Kit Kittredge (the American Girl) movie, where there was a sock monkey. But he was being carried away, taken away from his loving owners!
There are other rare, two-second appearances occasionally on television, but not enough. Sock monkeys are a special toy that have been in existence practically since Red Heel socks were invented! There are so many different colored and patterned sock monkeys in the world, and so many other products, like coin purses, nightlights, party supplies, hand puppets, tin lunchboxes, nesting dolls, jack-in-the-boxes, prints to hang on the wall, picture frames and books. Sock monkeys are such a fun thing to collect (just ask Jillian!). Handmade ones are the best, like me. You can personalize them however you want, and then he's one-of-a-kind, made just for you and you only.
I encourage any readers of this blog to start a sock monkey collection. No, you don't have to have thirty-five like Jillian does (not counting the other products she owns) but you can have a few, so they have others to talk to. We're known to be a little chatty. But sock monkeys are great pals to have around! You can poke around a bit to find some vintage ones online or just pick up a couple striped ones at Walmart (Jillian's done both). The Missing Feature

Today my best friend Cowwie had the most wonderful chocolate-chip cookie. Of course, he gave me half, as he is the bestest friend ever! But, sadly, I could not smell the cookie. Piggy and Emily, our other friends, were gabbing on and on about how good it smelled. I guess I'll never have a clue about smells. You see, I have no nose. Yes...it is the terrible, sad, terribly sad fact about me. Jillian is good at describing smells, but it's just not the same as the real thing. Of course, I'd rather be missing a nose than an ear. Or a mouth! Boy, without a mouth I could not talk! Or jabber, as Piggy calls it. Look below, because there is a photo of me (noseless, pitiful me) and Cowwie! PS--please do not feel sorry for me not having a nose, as I have so many other blessings to count that I always lose count when I try. That may have to do with the fact that I can't remember what comes after eleven...

Look out below!

Garage Sale 2011

But not mine, hehe!!
Relaxing on a bench
Hanging out together!
Sharing secrets with Cowwie
Exhausting!
Rearranging some jars. Much better!
Testing the furniture. Feels good!

Hanging from the balcony for a great view!

Lounging around with some buddies.

It is a tradition between our extended family (including Jillian's aunts and cousins) to hold a garage sale, typically annually. The most recent one took place this past Saturday. I was invited to come along to the sleepover the night before, and I joined the staff outside occasionally. Jillian managed to snap a few photos of me, and these is the exciting first shots of me you get to see! Also, Coming Soon: photos and possibly videos from a trip we're embarking on soon!!! Welcome...elcome...elcome.

Hello! My name is Socko and I'm a handmade sock monkey. My hobbies are dancing, eating soup and cereal, and reading board books. I also love hanging out with my other thirty-three family members at my house! My owner is Jillian. She's so awesome. She collects us (sock monkeys) and told me I could make a blog from my point of view of the world. More fun facts: my birthday is April 12, I'll be three this year, my favorite books are Sock Monkey Dreams, 10 Little Sock Monkeys, Curious George and Fox in Socks, my favorite movie is Aladdin, and my favorite band is the Monkees. I always wear a blue T-shirt with my picture on it and jeans with a cute little button, and socks. I'm almost twenty inches long.
Things to expect on this blog: stuff about food, pictures and lots of 'em, information about our travels, maybe some movies, and drawings.
Please look around for a while and enjoy my blog! Goodbye!
